2011 Tree Sweater: Hoodie with Pom Poms

The new 2011 features:

- Hood
- Pom Pom hood pulls
- Front pocket
- Raglan-style sleeve

This year I moved the sweater up the tree to the next set of branches, because the small "arm" branch situation at the lowest split of the tree became a little too complicated. A few years ago I managed to knit multiple sleeves for the multiple branches. Now that I am using Velcro to attach the sweater for de-bugging in the summer, I decided to opt out of Velcroing up multiple sleeves.

Last year's cardigan really took a beating...

Babies and their Hats

Most of my stitching is done for the BABIES in my life. Two years ago I made my nephew a crocheted monkey hat inspired by an Etsy shop called Cite Fuzz. The combo of a super cute little boy and this hat stopped traffic in grocery stores all around my hometown. I used a bamboo yarn for this hat, which is super soft and durable.

In the next few weeks I will be an aunt for the second time, so in preparation I have put together this little number for my niece. I was sad not to include the monkey ears as I made this one with flowers per request of my sister, but I do think this will suit her well. The flower pattern for these flowers came from a fancy little blog called Attic24.

Just in time for summer! Wool Gloves.

These were a side project for about a year and a half and I finished them just in time for the first day of summer (yes, back in June.)

Jewelry Hanger

Back in January I took a break from making work for my MFA exhibition and made this jewelry hanger. It is made of steel binding wire and silver solder. It is wonderful when procrastination ends in something like this, not to mention the boost in sanity you can have from organizing!

2010 Tree Sweater is a Cardigan

Limited time & limited yarn kept this one small in size, but big in mechanics. Over the past year, my dad has threatened to take down the sweater in the summer time. It becomes a haven for spiders and bugs, which can be harmful to the tree. So that the sweater will not be cut down early, I have engineered this cardigan with working buttons and a Velcro seam at the shoulder.

Happy New Year!
